Is renewable energy a good source of energy?

The advancement in technology has been changing our lives a lot. The invention of new energy (solar, wind, etc) which is cleaner and more effective, has become the major energy source of our lives. Yet, does it mean that fossil fuels are totally useless and out of the reserve list? In my opinion, the fossil will not never replace renewable energy.

Firstly, fossil fuels are much cheaper than the renewable energy. On the one hand, renewable energy like wind energy is needed equipment or apparatus in order to generate power, which is quite expensive and not durable. On the other hand, fossil fuels like coal can be used by simply burning after mining. It costs relatively less and economical. In short, fossil fuels outweigh renewable energy in term of economic.

Secondly, fossil fuels are easy to reserve and the energy produced can storage for a period of time. By comparing between those two, fossil fuels usually have a fixed size and shape. It is more convenient to keep. What’s more, all kinds of renewable energy cannot be stored since those energy are generated irreversibly. It could not be paused once it has produced as fossil fuels can. Therefore, fossil fuel will not never replace renewable energy because of its features.

In spite of all the advantages of fossil fuels, a group of people who advocate for protecting the environment claimed that fossil fuels are harmful to the planet. It caused sorts of pollutions like air and water pollution. But, I think it is not accurate enough. For instance, the 2011 Japan earthquake had induced the leakage of radiation. This pollution is much worse than fossil fuels do. Others like wind energy, the wind blade will cause the visual pollution also. So, I do think fossil fuel will not never replace the renewable energy.

All in all, the using renewable energy is not full-developed as the fossil fuels do. So, I think fossil fuels will still be the major source of energy.
